🔒 Key Point: SyncU does not collect, store, or process your health data. All syncing happens directly between your device and Intervals.icu.
Introduction
SyncU ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the SyncU mobile application (the "App").
SyncU is a local sync utility. Your health data flows directly from Health Connect on your device to Intervals.icu. We never see, store, or process this data.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We do NOT collect, store, or have access to:
- Your health and fitness data (steps, heart rate, sleep, activities, etc.)
- Your Intervals.icu credentials or API keys
- Your personal health information
- Your activity history
- Your location data
- Any personally identifiable information
Information Stored on Your Device
The following information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Intervals.icu API Credentials - Encrypted using Android Keystore
- Sync Preferences - Auto-sync settings (enabled/disabled)
- Last Sync Timestamps - Metadata about when syncs occurred
- App Configuration - Display preferences and settings
Security: Your credentials are encrypted and protected by Android's secure Keystore system.
How SyncU Works
Data Flow
Health Connect (on your device)

Intervals.icu (your account)
SyncU acts as a conduit only:
- Reads health data from Health Connect on your device
- Displays it side-by-side with Intervals.icu data
- When you sync, sends data directly to Intervals.icu using your API key
- Never stores this data on our servers (we don't have servers)
Third-Party Services
Health Connect (Android/Google)
SyncU reads health data from Android's Health Connect platform. Health Connect's own privacy policy applies to data stored there.

What we access:
- Only data types you explicitly grant permission for
- Data is read locally on your device for display and sync purposes
- Never stored by SyncU
Intervals.icu
SyncU sends your health data to Intervals.icu using your API credentials. Intervals.icu's privacy policy applies to data sent there.

How this works:
- You provide your Intervals.icu API key to SyncU
- SyncU uses this key to send data directly from your device
- We don't intermediate, store, or access this data
Optional Anonymous Usage Data
Crash Reports (Optional):
If you opt-in via Google Play Console settings, anonymous crash reports may be collected to help improve app stability. This data:
- Is completely anonymous (no personal information)
- Contains only technical crash information
- Cannot identify you or your health data
- Can be disabled in your device settings
We do NOT use analytics or tracking services.
Data Security
On Your Device
Security measures:
- API credentials encrypted using Android Keystore
- App data protected by Android's app sandboxing
- No data accessible to other apps
- Local database protected by Android OS
On Our Servers
Nothing. We do not have servers that store your data.
Data Sharing
We do not share your data because we don't collect it.
The only data sharing that occurs is:
- Your device → Intervals.icu (initiated by you, using your credentials)
We do not:
- Sell data
- Share data with advertisers
- Provide data to third parties
- Use your data for marketing
- Track you across websites or apps
Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your data:
Access
All your data is on your device and in Health Connect. You can view it anytime in the app.
Deletion
- Uninstall SyncU to delete all local data
- Revoke Health Connect permissions in Android settings
- Delete data from Intervals.icu through their platform
- Clear app data in Android settings
Modification
Modify your data through Health Connect source apps or Intervals.icu.
Withdrawal of Consent
- Revoke Health Connect permissions anytime in Android settings
- Disable auto-sync in SyncU settings
- Delete your Intervals.icu credentials from the app
- Uninstall the app
Children's Privacy
SyncU is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you are under 13, please do not use this app.
International Users
SyncU works globally. Your health data syncs directly from your device to Intervals.icu's servers. We have no servers and collect no data.
GDPR Compliance (EU Users)
For EU users under GDPR:
- Data Controller: You are the controller of your data
- Legal Basis: Your consent when granting Health Connect permissions
- Data Processing: All processing is local on your device or at Intervals.icu
- Rights: All GDPR rights available through your device and Intervals.icu
CCPA Compliance (California Users)
California residents have rights regarding personal information. Since we don't collect personal information, these rights are exercised through your device and Intervals.icu.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Significant changes will be notified through:
- In-app notification
- Update notes in the Play Store
- GitHub repository announcement
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
